WBC mourns the  passing of young Alejandro “Rusito” González

The World Boxing Council and its President Mauricio Sulaimán, are mourning the death of boxer Alejandro González.

They announced on June 30: "“Rusito” González, left this world at the age of 21 after bravely fighting against cancer in the nodes. He was a great promise and prospect for Mexican boxing.

The entire WBC family join with  family and friends of this fine young warrior. The sorrow is great, but “Rusito” will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace!"

From Gomez Palacio, Durango, the 21-year-old super lightweight known as “Rusito” was unbeaten in 15 fights, with 11 KOs. During May to October in 2016, the heavy-handed talent KO'd five foes in a row in the first round. His last bout was in April 2019, which he won on points over six rounds.
