June 22 had plenty of stars in action over the years

Plenty of MTK Global stars were in action on June 22 in previous years, and you can find out about everything that went down in the ‘On This Day’ series.

In 2019, a huge #MTKFightNight event was held at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow and saw Lee McGregor defend his Commonwealth bantamweight title against Scott Allan.

McGregor put in a superb performance on his way to stopping Allan in the eighth round, retaining his title and extend his unbeaten record to 7-0.

Elsewhere on the card, Kieran Smith retained his WBC International Silver super-welterweight title by defeating Ivan Montero, plus Craig MacIntyre picked up a stoppage victory over Chris Adaway.

There were points wins for Lewis Benson, Reece McFadden and Jack Turner too, as they defeated Renald Garrido, Joel Sanchez and Jose Hernandez respectively.

In 2012, a show was held at the De Vere Whitels Hotel in Bolton, with Hosea Burton extending his unbeaten record to 4-0 by beating Paewl Trebinski on points after four rounds.

Liam Conroy had his professional debut on the card as well, stopping Danny Brown to make a successful start in the paid ranks.

TJ Doheny also fought that night at the Entertainment Centre in New South Wales, stopping Chris Potter in the first round to move to 2-0 in his career.
