June 2 has been a day full of action over the years

There were plenty of MTK Global stars in action on June 2 over the years, and you can find out about everything that went down in the ‘On This Day’ series.

In 2017, an event was held at the Club Punchbowl in New South Wales, Australia, as future world champion TJ Doheny was in action against Espinos Sabu.

Doheny needed just 135 seconds to earn the win, picking up a first-round knockout victory to extend his unbeaten record to 17-0.

Elsewhere that evening, Nordine Oubaali fought at the Palais des Sports Porte de Versailles in Paris, France, as he went up against Alejandro Hernandez for the vacant WBC Silver bantamweight title.

Oubaali got the stoppage victory in round 10 to make it 12-0 in his professional career and has since gone on to win the WBC world title.

In 2012, a show was held at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre in Manchester, as Brian Rose defended his British super-welterweight title against Kris Carslaw. Rose won the fight by unanimous decision, retaining his title and securing the 20th win of his professional career.

That night also saw Alfredo Meli competing at the ExCel Arena in London, facing Andrejs Loginovs. Meli won the fight by third-round stoppage, moving to 2-0 in his professional career in the process.
