Berchelt focused on beating Valenzuela to face Valdez next
WBC super featherweight champion Miguel “Alacrán” Berchelt (37-1-0, 33 KOs) will headline the boxing card on Saturday June 27 at the TV Azteca studios in Mexico City against Eleazar “Tronco” Valenzuela (21-13-4, 16 KOs) that will present Promociones Zanfer in association with Max Boxing and Top Rank.
Following health prevention and safety protocols, Berchelt will fight a non-title fight of 10 rounds at lightweight against the tough Sinaloan Valenzuela.
The evening will also have two high impact fights between Omar “Pollo” Aguilar (17-0-0, 16 KOs) against the experienced Dante “Crazy” Jardón (32-6-0, 23 KOs) over 10 rounds in the super lightweight category; and solid prospect from Mexico City Mauricio “Bronco” Lara (18-2-0, 12 KOs) against undefeated Tijuana fighter Humberto Galindo (21-0-1, 9 KOs) over 10 rounds in super featherweight category.
“Alacrán” Berchelt says he is keen to return to the ring and that he is sure that the fans will follow the broadcast on Azteca 7 and ESPN.
“I know the stage will be strange without an audience, but once in the fight, my mind will be on winning and giving a great show to the fans via television. My rival is strong and brave, but I am more. Everything for triumph because from there it's Oscar Valdez.”
Mecican warriors Berchelt and Valdez have been on a collision course for over a year now and are expected to meet before the end of 2020.
