Layla "Amazing" McCarter now gets a chance for revenge against Yamila Esther Reynoso

The main event on 2Pound Sports and Entertainment's April 4th fight card at the Clackamas Armory got an upgrade, as Layla "Amazing" McCarter will now be facing Buenos Aires, Argentina's Yamila Esther Reynoso in a rematch of their entertaining 2019 match up!

Only 23-years-old, Reynoso sports a record of 11-8-3 with 8 knockouts. "From what I hear, Yamila thought she won when she last fought Layla," said Steve "2 Pound" Forbes, former junior lightweight champion and the promotional outfit's namesake.

McCarter, 43-15-5 with 11 knockouts, says there's a good reason why she may not have looked her best against Reynoso the first time.

"Mayweather Promotions called me 10 days before the fight and asked if I could be ready to fight the co-main even for 10 rounds," McCarter said. The idea was to stay busy, but Reynoso may have kept McCarter busier than she wanted.

The April 4th card, titled "Put Up Or Shut Up," is 2Pound Sports' fifth card since its debut in 2017, and the perfect home for a McCarter-Reynoso rematch.

"Yamila is getting a rematch and coming for the titles," said 2Pound's Christina Lunzman. "They both will have ample time to train, and best believe they will bring their A-game!"

Also on the Clackamas Armory card:

  • Vancouver, Wa.'s Abdul Kamara will put his 1-2 record up against the 5-8-2 Kevin Davila from Auburn, Wa. at welterweight.
  • Oregon Golden Gloves winner Chris "The Truth" Johnson, 7-0 with 1 knockout, will also be fighting at junior middleweight against an opponent to be named.
  • Hood River, Ore.'s Ramon Martinez is scheduled to make his professional debut against Pasco, Wa.'s Roman Avetisyan at super middleweight

The 1100-seat Clackamas Armory is located just 20 minutes south of Portland at 15300 SE Minuteman Way, Clackamas, Oregon.
